The Leafs

Ray and Ruth Leaf served as Church Planters with SEND International in the greater Tokyo area of Japan from 1972 to 2009. Ray also led summer camps, served on the SEND Japan Council, served on the board of the Christian Academy of Japan. For six years he was President of the Japan Evangelical Missionary Association. About forty five mission agencies cooperate in Japan to see the Gospel spread throughout the Island nation of mostly Buddhist and Shinto people. Ruth was a support to Ray as cook and nurse at the summer camps. She also helped with evangelism, hospitality and discipleship in Church Planting.

Churches the Leafs planted are:
1) Miyoshi Christ Church. September 24, 2023 this church celebrated its fortieth anniversary. Ogawa Sensei is the Pastor.
2) Chuo Christ Church. They celebrated their thirtieth anniversary in 2025. Kim Sensei is the Pastor.
