Alex & Debbie Pirus

The Piruses

Alex and Debbie Pirus have been missionaries to the hockey world through Hockey Ministries International since 1997. Alex is a chaplain for 5 teams in the Midwest area, including NHL, AHL, and USHL teams. He is also the administrator for the USHL (the top Tier One Junior hockey league in the US). This involves teaching, travelling, and encouraging, as well as trying to find new qualified chaplains for the teams in the league.

As with most professions and ministries, the aging process begins to re-define the roles we play. There is a transition that occurs from actively traveling to hockey camps, to becoming mentors to the younger missionaries. Now Alex and Debbie are in that transitional phase of ministry to the Hockey World.
