Alex & Debbie Pirus

The Piruses

Alex and Debbie Pirus have been missionaries to the hockey world through Hockey Ministries International since 1997. Alex is a chaplain for 5 teams in the Midwest area, including NHL, AHL, and USHL teams. He is also the administrator for the USHL (the top Tier One Junior hockey league in the US). This involves teaching, travelling, and encouraging, as well as trying to find new qualified chaplains for the teams in the league.

During the summer, Alex and Debbie are involved in Christian Hockey camps that teach hockey, but are very Christ centered. The Gospel is clearly presented and the campers are encouraged to make a decision for Christ. There are 31 camps across North America and Europe, and Alex and Debbie have been involved in many of them over the past 23 years.
