Small Groups

Making a big church small

A Place for You

Small Groups are designed to help you develop relationships with others who can encourage and challenge you to consistently apply the truths of God’s Word to each area of your life. Small Groups are our primary means of discipleship and pastoral care.

Each Small Group meets three to four times a month. Times and locations vary by group. It is our desire that these Small Groups foster a loving, prayerful, and self sacrificing community.

Why Discipleship-Focused?

New Small Group Opportunity

Starting February 25, 2020

An introductory small group co-led by Pastor Gerald will be starting up on Tuesday, February 25. If you are new to Calvary or just new to small groups, this group will provide you with the opportunity to get to know Pastor Gerald as well as his heart for Calvary, connect with others who call Calvary home, and gain a better understanding of what it means to be a part of a Calvary Small Group. If interested, please complete our Small Group Interest form. We will be in contact with you shortly.

Home Groups

If you live on the West Side of Chicago or the Near West Suburbs, chances are there’s a home group near you. Home groups are mixed-gendered, and include both married and singles. They provide focused discussion and an opportunity for prayer and accountability.

Women’s Groups

Are you connected to other women? Women’s groups meet on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings at the church. Each meeting is built around a large–group teaching time and smaller groups for prayer and shepherding relationships. Childcare is provided.

Men’s Groups

Men meet for in–depth discussion and prayer all around the Oak Park area. Most groups meet early in the morning at various locations or on Wednesday evenings at the church.

Young Adult Groups

Adults in their 20s and 30s face unique challenges, lots of transitions, and are prone to feeling alone. These groups give you an opportunity to build community with others in the same stage of life.

A Churchwide Value

Our middle school and high school ministries are also founded on small group relationships with mentors. We want people of every age to be focused on discipleship.
