Growing in Our Knowledge of Jesus Christ

God's Wisdom for a Vibrant Faith

Just as Jesus’ own disciples were learners and students of his teaching, we are called today as Christians to be students of Jesus’ teaching and of God’s Word. CalvaryEd exists to help the members and attenders of Calvary Memorial Church grow in their knowledge of Jesus and Christianity through the Bible and theology.

CalvaryEd offers classes, events, and fellowships for helping members grow in their faith. These programs include Calvary Core, Calvary Talks, and Calvary Fellowships.

Calvary Core

Central Questions. Core Beliefs.

Core classes are intended to help the members and attenders at Calvary establish and maintain a strong and biblical foundation for Christian life, belief, and discipleship. They supplement the existing fellowship, worship, and preaching ministries at Calvary in order to cast a vision for Christian formation that engages the entire person—mind, heart, and body—in an intentional program of discipleship.

These four-week classes will be held on either Sunday evenings or Wednesday evenings, with two classes from the curriculum offered in the Fall and two offered in the Spring.

Calvary Core Curriculum:

Scripture: Wisdom from God's Word
Devotion: Wisdom for Spiritual Growth
Doctrine: Wisdom from Christian Teaching
History: Wisdom from the Christian Tradition
Ethics: Wisdom for Living in God's World

Calvary Talks

Engaging Today’s Issues

Twice per year, Calvary will host public conversations with well-qualified experts on issues and ideas relevant to today’s world and our local community. Join us as we explore ethical and social topics in the public square from a Christian perspective.

Calvary Fellowships

Growing and Learning Together

CalvaryEd Fellowships are groups in our church that meet regularly for community, teaching, and discussion. Two groups meet weekly on Sunday mornings throughout the ministry year. The Calvary Book Club meets monthly, on the 3rd Monday of each month.

Growing Together | Sundays at 9AM | Parlor

Growing Together is a connection point for individuals and couples at Calvary.  Each Sunday we gather for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth.  We study and discuss relevant topics that are helpful for growing closer to God and each other. Feel free to join us each week as you are able or for a specific series that is of interest to you.

Faith & Friends | Sundays at 10:45AM | Dining Room

Faith & Friends focuses on study of the Bible and topics that help inform and strengthen our faith in the Lord.  It is also an important time in which we connect and get to know others in our church.  Faith & Friends meets in the dining room during the second service and begins with refreshments and a time of prayer.  Adults of all ages are welcome.

Calvary Book Club | 3rd Monday at 7PM | Heritage Room

Share your love of reading with your church community. The Calvary Book Club meets the 3rd Monday of the month to discuss a book that both intellectually stimulates and challenges our faith. Attend every month or jump in when a particular book grabs your attention.
