How do we grow in our faith? How do we become more mature and more fruitful Christians? Join us for a four week Calvary Core Class entitled Devotion: Wisdom for Spiritual Growth. In this class we will explore how Christians grow and are formed into Christ-likeness. We will discuss the Holy Spirit and Christian formation, as well as practical guidance for spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, prayer, fasting, meditation, worship, and sacrament.

We will begin the evening with a family pizza dinner from 5-5:30PM. Children in attendance will eat with their families. Childcare will be available during the teaching time: 5:30 - 7PM.

All Church Lunch

All are encouraged to join us for lunch on October 13, following the second service. We are excited about how God is at work in our church, the Oak Park community, and around the world. We use these gatherings to share updates and introduce you to the many ways you can get connected at Calvary, all while enjoying a delicious meal.

If you are new to Calvary, there is no cost for your meal—lunch is on us. For regular attenders, the cost is $5/per person or $15/per family.

CALVARYED TALKS

"Reading Good Books and Living the Good Life"
Wednesday, October 16 | 7PM

How does reading great books make us better people? Why is it important for us to cultivate a habit of reading as we seek to grow as a person and grow in our faith? How do books help us confront some of the most difficult and complex situations we find in our world? Join us for our inaugural Calvary Talks event with special guest and author Karen Swallow Prior. This event is open to the public and will be a great event for church attenders as well as guests from the community. The session will begin with a talk from Dr. Prior, which will be followed by a Q&A discussion on reading and cultivating virtuous lives.
