MISSION MINDED 2019
BEGINS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3

Mission Minded 2019 presents a great opportunity for Calvary to reconnect with our missionaries, both local and global, and to celebrate our church's impact through missions over the last century.

This Sunday, you will receive a Mission Minded 2019 flyer along with your bulletin. This flyer will highlight events like our Wednesday Night All Church Missions Dinner on November 6 and our Campus Prayer Walk event on Saturday, November 9. Additionally, the flyer outlines the Sunday morning preaching schedule for the month as well as the topics to be covered in our CalvaryEd Fellowship—Faith & Friends.

Take a look at our Mission Minded event page for a sneak peek at this information.

FAREWELL TO Adam Doi
and FAMILY

Join us in thanking Adam Doi for his service to Calvary as he leaves our staff to accept a full time position as Associate Pastor at Trinity Gospel Church in Elk Grove Village. We are so grateful for Adam, Grace, Isaac, and Hannah, and for how they have selflessly poured themselves into the life and work of Calvary. They will be sorely missed! Join us in wishing them well in this new season of life.

PARENT DISCUSSION NIGHT

Parents of High School and Middle School students, plan to join us for another Parent Discussion Night event on Tuesday, November 5. We will have dinner together, beginning at 6:30PM, with the program starting at 7PM.

Former Calvary Youth Pastor and current Calvary Missionary, Craig Hammond, will be leading the evening's discussion, which is designed to help inform parents on how we can help our teenagers build resilience in their faith and emotional life. We hope that you will be able to join us.

HOST AN ECC STUDENT FOR A THANKSGIVING MEAL

Many of the International students participating in our English Conversation Cafe (ECC) program are away from family and far from home. This Thanksgiving, add another place setting to your table, and host a student (or two). This is a great way to make connections while sharing an American tradition with those interested in learning more about our culture.

If you would be willing to host one or more students in your home this Thanksgiving, please sign up via the link below.

CONGReGATIONAL MEETING

Save the date. On Sunday, November 17 at 4PM we will be gathering in the Sanctuary for our Fall Business Meeting. We will be selecting Elder and Nominating Committee members for 2020 and reviewing and approving the 2020 budget. We encourage all members of Calvary to attend. As always, regular attendees are also welcome, but voting is reserved for members.

A  family dinner will follow.

Calvary Book Club

Share your love of reading with your church community. The Calvary Book Club meets the 3rd Monday of the month to discuss a book that both intellectually stimulates and challenges our faith. Attend every month or jump in when a particular book grabs your attention. Calvary Book Club’s next meeting is Monday, November 18 at 7PM and will discuss various short stories by Flannery O'Connor
