SUN MAY 31 | 8PM | VIA ZOOM

Originally, our Spring Meeting was scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 15. This was to be a time to hear from our elders and staff and to receive a report on the fruit of God’s work at Calvary. Due to COVID-19, this meeting was canceled and our 2019 Annual Report was distributed via mail.

We have rescheduled this constitutionally-required meeting for this Sunday, May 31, from 8-9PM via Zoom.

All Calvary members are asked to attend this meeting. Regular attenders are also welcome.

CHRISTIANITY 101

WHAT IS THE CORE OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH?

We believe that this question can be answered by examining the story of the Gospel. It is for this reason that we have created a one session foundational class entitled Christianity 101. In this class we will examine how the living creator God has done, and is doing, something incredibly profound in our world to reveal his love.

Who should attend? This class is for anyone who is curious, frustrated, hopeful, discouraged, joyful, skeptical, thankful, discontent, or doubtful about life. This class is not just geared for Christians, nor is it geared only for non-Christians. This class is for everyone!

The next offering of this class will take place via Zoom at 9AM on Sunday, June 14.  This class will be offered every other month.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

SUPPORT OUR PARTNER (AND NEIGHBOR)
DURING THIS TIME OF COVID-19

We featured Hephzibah Home in our April 17 Weekly Update email. As summer approaches, please take note of the following updates from Hepzibah regarding their Wishlist and requests for prayer:

"As we transition into summer, we will have a few specific needs from our wishlist that would be very helpful for our children.  This is the link that will be updated in the next few weeks as our needs change. Thank you."

Requests for Prayer:

  • Children are not able to visit their friends, siblings, or mentors during shelter-in-place and these are people who care for them deeply and they miss.  Pray for comfort as they grieve these lost opportunities to connect with loved ones.
  • Summer -  pray for options that are safe to become available for our kids to get space to play, run, and enjoy the summer as camps and possibly parks and pools are closing.  We have 26 young and very active children who need space to play.  Although our playground is great, they need a change of scenery.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY UPDATE

Using Zoom technology we will continue on in our current study of Kathleen Nielson's Book Women and God to explore what the Bible really says about women and what it reveals about God’s attitude towards them. This will be supplemented with teaching from Carolyn Curtis Jane's book Half the Church.

The large group teaching video for the week of June 1 has been posted to the Women's Ministry webpage. Click on the link below to learn more about how you can participate in this study and to access the teaching video.

GOT ZOOM?

During the last few months, many of us have had the opportunity to connect with one another using Zoom. While nothing beats being together in person, this technology allows us to continue to see each other's faces (only if you want) and hear from one another.

We want to ensure that everyone who would like to join in our Zoom gatherings is able to do so. Do you need assistance getting set up with Zoom? We have individuals who would be happy to help. Please reach out to Caroline Wittman to request Zoom assistance.
