Calvary Connect lunches are for all. Whether you have been at Calvary for 20 years or just a few weeks, please plan to join us this Sunday, January 12, immediately following the second service. We are excited about how God is at work in our church, the Oak Park community, and around the world. We use these gatherings to share updates and introduce you to the many ways you can get connected at Calvary, all while enjoying a delicious meal.

If you are new to Calvary, there is no cost for your meal—lunch is on us. For regular attenders, the cost is $5/per person or $15/per family.

Last Sunday, Pastor Gerald gave an introduction to our new sermon series entitled "All Things New: The Story of the Bible and the Healing of the World." Over the next year and a half we will walk together through the full biblical narrative, beginning in Genesis and ending in the Book of Revelation. As we examine the individual stories of the Bible, we will see that they are not merely one-off, standalone tales, but rather stories collectively telling the single, overarching, story of God's redemptive purposes for humanity and humanity's world

Read along with us:
Join us this year as we read through the primary storyline of Scripture, in unison with the sermon series.  Each weekly reading is only 5-10 chapters long, and ties in with the sermon for that week.  You can read the passages before the sermon, or afterwards to think more deeply about how God is making all things new.

We will be distributing the 2020 Scripture Reading cards on Sunday morning. You may also access an online version of the card through the link below.

Join us this Sunday, January 12, as the 9AM CalvaryEd fellowship begins their new series entitled "The Gift of the Body: Rediscovering the Christian Vision for Human Sexuality." This first week, we will be specifically looking at the topic What Creation, Incarnation, and Resurrection Mean for Human Sexuality.

Our 9AM CalvaryEd Fellowship is a connection point for individuals and couples at Calvary who are in their 20s and 30s: from college students to couples with young families. While everyone is welcome, the content for this class is focused on issues relevant to this demographic.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain, or addiction of any kind. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place (anonymous) to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.

By participating in Celebrate Recovery, we not only find freedom from addictive patterns of thought and behavior (including anger, avoidance behaviors, codependency, anxiety, pornography, etc.), but we also find healing from the wounds of addiction that may have impacted our lives through loved ones, family, or close friends.

All are welcome to Celebrate Recovery, whether you consider Calvary your home church or not.

The program will officially begin this coming Wednesday, January 15. We will meet weekly in the Choir Room (Room 208) from 6:30-8PM.

Hi Calvary,
As we journey together through the biblical narrative this upcoming year in our series "All Things New," I wanted to share some additional resources that I believe will enhance your study of scripture. The Bible Project is a nonprofit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated Bible videos and other Bible resources in order to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.

Use the following links to access the video libraries for both the Old and New Testament:

New Testament

I'm looking forward to the year ahead as we immerse ourselves in the story of God's redemptive purposes for humanity and humanity's world.

Grateful for you all,
Pastor Gerald
