Finding Strength in the Book of Hebrews

A Service of Commemoration and Celebration

To commemorate and celebrate our journey through the book of Hebrews, which began in February of this year, we will have an extended time of sharing during our services on Sunday. Microphones will be placed at the front of the sanctuary, and anyone who would like to speak about how they have been impacted by the Steady On series is invited to come forward and recount how God has ministered to them in a unique or meaningful way through this study.

As a means of reviewing all that we have covered in this Epistle to the Hebrews, I encourage you to watch the video below.

The Series: Steady On

Persevering in the journey of faith is not always easy. Some legs of the journey are easier than others, but all of us hit rough patches. Family troubles, doubt, financial difficulties, struggles against sin, health worries, relational strife—all of these challenge our faith. And when these troubles reach a crescendo, we can be tempted to give up all together.

The book of Hebrews was written to just such a group of people. Pressed on every side, they were tempted to retreat back from the hard work of following Jesus. Yet the prize set before them—and us—is worth the struggle. Together we will learn from the book of Hebrews about the excellency of Christ and his benefits, and how these benefits enable us to persevere in the Christian faith when times get hard.
