How has God brought you to where you are today?

We were both students involved in Cru moments at our own universities and saw the Lord use this ministry to grow our hearts for the kingdom- specifically for ministries of evangelism and discipleship. Andy came to Chicago immediately after graduating and raising his initial ministry support. Amy worked for 6 years with Cru Inner City in Detroit and moved to work with Andy upon getting married in 2007.

What is God doing in your immediate context?

We are trusting the Lord to see Chicago students transformed into Christ-centered laborers. We want to see students won to Christ, built up in their faith, and then sent out to reach others. Specifically, we work with students at Columbia College, Northwestern School of Medicine, college students and college-aged people in partnership with By The Hand Ministries in Austin, and the Loyola University Medical School. Andy also serves as the Chicago Metro Director of Operations, helping to give overall leadership to the team and directly overseeing operational areas like finance, technology, and communication. Additionally, Amy serves as the Cross Cultural Training Coordinator for Cru staff teams in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana- providing resources and training for increased cultural growth and understanding.

How does your partnership with Calvary help you be more effective in your work?

Aside from the equipping we receive through the teaching ministry at Calvary and our own spiritual edification as we participate in body-life, we have been very encouraged this year to see a number of students from our movements at Dominican University and Loyola's Medical School show up and be involved at Calvary. It has been exciting to be able to connect with them on Sundays and to delve deeper into the sermons with them when we meet for weekly discipleship times.
