SIDE-BY-SIDE
MINISTRY
"Two
are better than one." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Side-By-Side
offers Calvary’s women the opportunity to come
alongside Breakthrough Urban Ministries' Sister to
Sister (StS), an outreach ministry to
women in crisis. Side-By-Side is Calvary’s
discipleship ministry, linking StS women within
the Body of Christ, with mature believers to offer
encouragement and accountability for spiritual growth
and development.
StS
women
may have been homeless, prostitutes, recovering drug addicts or in other crisis,
but are
striving to build new and healthy lifestyles. They
are extremely new Christians struggling to fully grasp
the amazing scope of what salvation in Christ means
for them. They are saints in transition. Side-By-Side
offers Calvary women the challenge to walk with these
sisters in Christ into full freedom.
The
following are some areas in which Calvary women may
serve, with
differing levels of involvement.
SPONSORS: help
to organize social events for the purpose of acclimating
StS women into a Christian normative culture.
PRAYER
WARRIORS: do battle in prayer on behalf
of StS women and their ministry partners in the walk
to freedom in Christ.
MINISTRY
PARTNERS: patiently build discipling relationships
through a
carefully moderated process. A Ministry Partner must :
- Be
a Member of Calvary
- Agree
to support Calvary’s Statement of Faith in
all aspects
of her role as a ministry partner
- Agree
to work under the authority of Women’s
Ministries and Calvary Memorial Church Leadership
- Be trained by Breakthrough Urban Ministries
