Bible Studies

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Tuesday 9:15-11:00 a.m. (Resuming September 15)

Topic: Fall 2009 -- Living Encounters with Christ

An informal Bible-centered, come-as-you-are study for all women who desire to know and experience more of Christ and each other.

Down through the years, those who’ve been close to God have met with him daily.  This year, we’ll be using The Quiet Time Companion to facilitate our own corporate and personal daily Bible Study.  We’ll use a variety of Bible Study methods that will help us stay engaged, go deeper and apply what we learn with the goal of preparing us to continue on with Christ well after the Study has ended.

Once a month we rotate volunteering at the OPRF Food Pantry.

Contact: Kim Marrero, coordinator; Debbie Birkey, teacher

Location: Parlor (Room 106)

All women are welcome.  Childcare provided.

Wednesday 6:45-8:30 p.m. (Resuming January 13 - during AWANA)

Topic: Winter/spring 2010 – A Beth Moore study entitled, Breaking Free.

Updated and revised, Breaking Free is Beth Moore's life message- the transforming power of Christian freedom.  Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, it uses Scripture to help women identify spiritual strongholds in thier lives, no matter how big or small. Moore explains that anything that hinders us from fully knowing God is bondage.

Women of all ages, from all walks of life gather weekly to study the Bible.  A Beth Moore study features weekly lively discussions with small groups of women,  and a stiring, insightful DVD presentation, complemented by an optional workbook for personal study at home.

Some women in last year's study had never opened the Bible before, others were seasoned scholars.  Some women were going through deep personal crises, others were just looking to meet a friend.  All of the women bonded deeply as they searched for truth together.  Come join us this semester; there's a place at the table for you!

Location: Dining Room

All ages, childcare provided
