CMC Women’s Ministries
Meeting the Needs of Women through Discipleship and Service
Join the women of Calvary as we grow together in Christ! We gather to study his Word, to serve and to enjoy fellowship. Come enjoy coffee, conversation and faith discussions with other women.
Tuesday Mornings -Beginning September 15th.
Great news! We have found a gifted Concordia student and member of our congregation, Laura Reiter, to coordinate the childcare program on Tuesday mornings. We are looking for additional women to care for our infants, toddlers and preschoolers, so if you know of someone, please pass along their contact information.

I'm excited to 'journey' with you once again. This year, we’ll be using The Quiet Time Companion to facilitate our own corporate and personal Bible Study. We'll use a variety of Bible Study methods that will help us stay engaged, go deeper and apply what we learn with the goal of preparing us to continue on with Christ well after our Study has ended.
Wednesday Evenings - Breaking Free: The Journey, The Stories, by Beth Moore- beginning January 13, 2010, 6:45-8:30 p.m.
Updated and revised, Breaking Free is Beth Moore's life message- the transforming power of Christian freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, it uses Scripture to help women identify spiritual strongholds in thier lives, no matter how big or small. Moore explains that anything that hinders us from fully knowing God is bondage.
Women of all ages, from all walks of life gather weekly to study the Bible. A Beth Moore study features weekly lively discussions with small groups of women, and a stiring, insightful DVD presentation, complemented by an optional workbook for personal study at home.
Some women in last year's study had never opened the Bible before, others were seasoned scholars. Some women were going through deep personal crises, others were just looking to meet a friend. All of the women bonded deeply as they searched for truth together. Come join us this semester; there's a place at the table for you!
Location: Dining Room
All ages, childcare provided

Women’s Book Discussion
All women are invited to attend our lively, casual group which is modeled after WMBI’s book discussion format – classic literature for Christian women. There is no need to register; just attend when you wish. The only requirement is that you read that month’s book. We usually meet the first Monday of each month at Mary Newberg’s home, 102 LeMoyne Parkway in Oak Park, from 7:30 - 9:15 p.m. The selection for March 1 is Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. We will discuss William Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew on April 5. Contact Mary (708.524.2312) for a complete reading list.
