Caris – 2008 Hike For Life

The support you raise will impact women, children and youth in Cook County. For every $360 you raise, you will provide medical, counseling & ongoing support services for one woman, or reach 15 students with the message of abstinence! "The Big Trip" DVD
Would you like a record of your child's (or grandchild's or the kids) acting and singing debut? We are happy to announce that there will be DVDs of this musical for sale. The Resource Center will be taking orders for the Children's Musical "The Big Trip" starting today. The cost is $10. Just stop by the Resource Center, fill out an order form and drop off your payment.

Wanted: Year 2008 Graduates
If you have someone in your family who is graduating from junior high, senior high, college or receiving a higher degree, please let the Church Office know so we can acknowledge their accomplishment. Please use the tear-off "For Our Congregation" form to give us your graduate’s name and information or email         JanetBuis@CalvaryMemorial.com by May 26.  For those graduating from college or receiving higher degrees, please also give their school name and degree (i.e. BA Business—Roosevelt University).

Thank You, Calvary Women!
Women’s Ministries would like to thank all of the women who came to the brunch last Saturday and donated food items for our local food pantries.  They were greatly appreciated!  “God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor. 9:7.

Coffee and fellowship?
If you're in need of some coffee and fellowship, you can get it in several places around Calvary!  Every Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) has coffee, fellowship and teaching...or you can grab a cup in the Legacy Room just off the Portico. Enjoy!  

Pulpit Committee Update
From the end of April to the middle of May the Pulpit Committee will be interacting with two, possibly three men whom we feel have gifts and strengths consistent with the needs and expectations of the next Senior Pastor for Calvary.  Please pray that the right questions will be asked, that parties will be honest and sincere in their discussion, and that we will be able to sense the Spirit’s leading.  Not enough words of thanks can be said for the prayers that we know many of you have prayed on our behalf as well as the months of patience and trust.  Please continue to pray diligently for this process as we seek to honor the Lord and you, the members of Calvary.  Again, we thank you.  Debbie Birkey, Soo Ai Kudo, Sabrina Thompson, Ted Griffin, John Tahl, Brian Ondracek, Chris Jahns, and Larry Davidhizar.

Special reception
The Missions Committee is hosting a reception to honor two of our missionary families who have recently retired, Jonathan and Dottie Hildebrandt and Larry and Linda Burk. Please join us on Sunday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Room for this special occasion.
