Global partners making Jesus Christ known around the world.

Location: Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Time of service: Since 2015

Agency: South American Mission (SAM)

How has God brought you to where you are today?

I left for my first missions trip at 14 and little did I know that God would plant a passion in my heart for sharing the Gospel with children throughout the world. After several short term trips in high school, He led me to Moody Bible Institute to study Intercultural and Children's Ministry. My studies there gave me a solid foundation for the how-to of future ministry. However, it was Calvary that gave me the foundation of a missions minded, supportive, and loving family that would continue to bless and grow me even from the field. I interned in Colombia during my time as a college student and felt called to return and help run children's ministries within local churches. After serving in Colombia for two years, the Lord led me to South America Mission and to the opportunity to lead a children's ministry team to build up children's ministry programs in and around Santa Cruz. My greatest joy in ministry has been seeing children learn what it means to follow Jesus and watch them share the Gospel with those around them.

What is God doing in your immediate context?

After serving in local churches, schools, and alongside foundations for two years in Colombia, the Lord closed the door to future ministry and led me to know South America Mission. I was accepted to their Bolivia team in June 2017 to help lead a dormant children's ministry team that can encourage and grow existing churches in Santa Cruz. After a home assignment I am looking to be serving in Bolivia in January 2018 alongside my team so that we can continue to show Christ's love and encourage local churches.

How does your partnership with Calvary help you be more effective in your work?

Calvary has been my greatest supporter both spiritually and financially. Especially during my support raising process, Calvary members and staff went out of their way to show their love and encouragement for me and my ministry. From the field, I continue to follow the sermons from Calvary online which not only strengthens my faith but helps me feel like I'm still part of the family. In the midst of transitions, Calvary has supported, encouraged, and prayed with me as I sought the Lord's will and they have been the first ones to rejoice with me as I follow Him. I am so blessed to be part of a church that loves their missionaries so much it takes the time to know us and connect us to their other missionaries as well as the rest of the congregation!
